Kahuraki has been performing since he was 5, and in the Circus world since he was 16!
He may not be the first Māori performer to grace the World Busker’s Festival, but he is definitely the first Māori performer that actively incorporates te ao Māori into his solo Circus show! That includes language, skills and games for the family to enjoy!
Ōtautahi-born Kahuraki Bronsson-George, (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Mamoe, Waitaha, Ngāti Porou, Henderson Clan, MacNeachdain Clan) joined the Circus (without needing to run away) at Circo Arts, and there was no turning back.
Kahuraki has trained in Mau Rākau with Te Whare Tū Taua o Waitaha for over 6 years, and is currently a Pou Rua. He has long worked on his solo Māori Circus Theatre solo show, “Iti Kahuraki”, and is enjoying where the combination of Circus disciplines with Te Ao Māori is taking him.
