Christchurch’s own Summer Studios brings the rhythm, energy, and spirit of wāhine to the streets of Ōtautahi. Founded by Summer Lloyd, this vibrant dance and wellness community empowers women through movement, connection, and culture — creating a space where every dancer can move freely, feel confident, and celebrate who they are.

Blending creative dance, Siva Samoa, and contemporary expression with holistic practices that honour the mind, body, and spirit, Summer Studios embodies a kaupapa of authenticity, empowerment, and belonging. The studio’s performances weave together Māori and Pasifika values with modern artistry, creating something that feels both deeply rooted and joyfully fresh.

Returning to the World Buskers Festival, Summer Studios will light up the city with powerful performances featuring Siva Samoa, a community flash mob, and a showcase of their talented studio dancers. A celebration of movement, mana, and connection — this is dance that moves the heart as much as the body.
