Witness a selection of talented local urban artists in action, creating vibrant art live in the city. The best part? If you love what you see, you can make it yours! It’s like a live art auction, but the artwork is created in real time. From 12pm – 4pm at Altiora.

Our artists

1. Ikarus DTR
Ikarus is a central figure in Ōtautahi’s graffiti and street art scene, with decades of experience as both an artist and key advocate for graffiti culture. A founder of the DTR crew, Ikarus has been a featured artist in a number of exhibitions and festivals, including RISE, Spectrum and SHIFT – Urban Art Takeover, his installation work for the latter a highlight for many visitors, providing a chaotic insight into his personal progression as an artist.

2. Klaudia Bartos
Klaudia Bartos is a Hungarian-born, Christchurch-based artist, her work focusses on surreal and distorted portraiture that is both alluring and unsettling. Exploring paint, ink, print and sculpture Klaudia creates bold pieces that evoke intrigue and unease. In recent years, Klaudia has expanded into the streets, installing expressive ceramic heads around the city along with handmade stickers and paste-ups, inviting people to encounter art unexpectedly in urban spaces, finding new spaces for her creative expressions.

3. Kophie Su’a-Hulsbosch aka Meep
Bio: Kophie Su’a-Hulsbosch aka Meep is an artist from the South Island of Aotearoa NZ, of Samoan and Dutch heritage. She is a graphic designer, muralist and graffiti artist with an interest in fashion design and sustainability. She has worked with international and national businesses and has been running her full-time art business for the last seven years. Her murals and art are influenced by social, ethical and environmental issues and street culture. She is part of the international crew TMD & the FSA Crew from Ōtautahi Christchurch.

4. McChesney Adams (Chez)
Bio: With a background in fine art, McChesney is a full-time tattoo artist and multidisciplinary visual artist celebrated for her finely detailed work across tiny paintings, intricate drawings, and murals. Inspired by nature, animals, and portraiture, her style weaves together illustrative, realism, and fantasy elements with a distinct whimsical touch. Based at Arcana Tattoo Craft in Lyttelton, Chez balances her studio practice with her role as a tattoo artist, bringing her fine art background into every piece she creates on skin. She is also a member of the Full Steam Ahead Crew, a collective of artists, DJs, dancers, and musicians.
